For the past ten years I have been running my “Friday” Portrait and Life-drawing classes in Cheltenham. The terms are always ten weeks long in the autumn and spring, with a short five or six week summer term in April/May.

Prices:

N.B. Starting in January 2023 the rates are increasing to £20 for an individual session. The price for the Portrait Class for the term is increasing to £160 and the price for the Life Drawing class is increasing to £170 ( an increase of £5 a term) The price for a whole day will be £35

The price for the whole day for ten weeks is £330 payable at the beginning of the term.

There is the choice of two people to draw or paint in the morning, and the afternoon session is much more about quick response drawing of the figure possibly using your non- dominant hand, and/or a long stick which enable uninhibited exercises, and after tea break there’s time for a more considered drawing.

Help is always at hand and a lighthearted encouraging attitude brings out wonderful results.

Workshops:

It has given me such pleasure to have been invited to so many art clubs around the county, and the country: to South Wales and even all the way to Bethlehem in Palestine to work with Icon Painters for a week in 2017.

The workshops I have run so far have included:

Portraits using Compressed Charcoal,

Portraits using Pastel,

and Still-life using a technique called ‘glazing’.
